Creativity in the law curriculum
Fully Booked
23 January 2008
Creativity should be at the heart of any effective higher education curriculum. This seminar explored how some of the best examples from across the sector can be used in the delivery of learning and teaching in law.
The seminar was made up of four sessions:
- Developing the creative curriculum: exploring learning styles – Keren Bright (Open University) encouraged participants to consider their own learning styles
- ‘On trial’: teaching without talking – Kirsten Hardie (Arts Institute at Bournemouth) gave an update on her use of popular culture to teach law to graphic design students – see the report on her Learning in Law Annual Conference 2007 session and ‘On trial’: tutor as silent witness for details
- Problem-based learning and e-learning – Michael Bromby (Glasgow Caledonian University) presented his work using discussion boards to facilitate a PBL based seminar programme (see the Bromby-Scholar wiki for details) and shared his tips for making VLEs more interesting
- Law on film – Chris Ashford (University of Sunderland)
